A: Buy My Affection is a semi-anonymous gift delivery service that lets people who don't know each other all that well buy gifts for each other. Like a bit of lube on the wheels of courtship, we make it easier for you to be coy and flirtatious without the risks of giving your personal information away.
Q: How does it work?
A: Imagine Jane. Jane's interested in getting gifts from attractive strangers, so she signs up with us, picks a screen name, and gives us her address, in the full confidence that we'll keep her info private. She can tell people her screen name on buymyaffection.com, or make buttons that she can put on her online profiles.Now imagine Bob, who sort of knows Jane, but would like to get her know her better. Bob clicks on the buttons Jane made (or comes to buymyaffection.com and searches for her screen name). Bob picks through our great selection, and buys her a gift.We will make sure Jane gets her gifts, and Bob gets noticed. After receiving her gift, with Bob's special message inside, we send Jane a link to a private messaging area, where she can say "thanks", or maybe something more clever...It might be that Jane is a member on a dating or social site that Buy My Affection has partnered with; in that case, we have a deal with her site where we can get her address, or get in touch with her to get her address, if someone buys something for her. All our security and privacy promises remain the same.
Q: Why should I buy through you?
A: When you buy someone a gift, you set yourself apart from the rest, and let them know in a way they can smell, touch and feel, that you're interested in them.

A: We have a private connection to your dating site that will let us retrieve your address information if anyone buys a gift for you.

A: People can buy a gift for you several ways: - Clicking on one of the pretty buttons we can make for you.

Q: Where do gifts get delivered?
A: We keep your address on file, along with delivery instructions like buzz-codes or apartment numbers. You can update your address by signing into your account and clicking "Change my address".
Q: Can you deliver to me?
A: We ship anywhere in Canada or the United States (including Alaska and Hawaii, but not things like Puerto Rico, Army bases, or the Outer Marianas Islands). We plan on expanding our merchandising focus to Europe in 2007.
Q: Why should I trust you?
A: Some of our competitors make buying gifts for someone a sideline to their retail business, as if it were a distraction. For us, this really is all we do. We're completely focused on getting it right, and protecting everyone's privacy. We encrypt our communications, and carefully log all data accesses. In addition, our contracts with our suppliers have nasty terms about what happens to them if they lose or disclose anyone's information. So you can rest easy knowing you've got the paranoid technogeeks on your side.

Q: How do I know my gift arrived?
A: We include with your gift a note telling the recipient how to get in touch with you, and messages with you. We also give you a link where you can watch your order's progress, from collecting payment to getting your gift delivered.
Q: Tell me about these prices.
A: Our prices are in US Dollars, and include all wire fees, shipping & handling, and taxes. Canadians don't have to pay GST.
Q: How do I track the progress of my order?
A: With every order, we give both the buyer and the recipient an order tracking link that lets them follow its progress.
Q: When do I get a refund?
A: In some circumstances, we have what looks like an inaccurate or out of date address, and we have to ask the recipient to update their address. If for some reason they fail to do so, we will refund your money in full.
Q: How do I cancel my order if I've changed my mind?
A: Forward your order confirmation message to hey@buymyaffection.com with explicit instructions that you wish to cancel your order. You may cancel your order any time before we have manufactured, built, assembled, or shipped it.
Q: What kind of payment do you take?
A: We accept payment through Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and PayPal. Our site uses PayPal to collect payment.
Q: Why PayPal?
A: We're lazy, and they offer a great service, including excellent fraud protection, for a great price. Please note you don't need a PayPal account to send us money.
Q: Flowers?
A: We have partnered with Absolutely Flowers, a premier FTD florist in Utah, to deliver floral gifts throughout North America. We have access to their full catalogue of FTD flowers.
Q: Greeting cards?
A: We hand-write these ourselves, in our best penmanship. Neat, eh?
Q: Mix CD's?
A: It's all the romance of the movie (and book!) High Fidelity. We put together a mix album using the tracks you specify, in the order you specify, and burn them to a high-quality CD, with a title. It's even legal, paid-for music from reputable music services.
